Introduced in 1975 by Česká Zbrojovka, the CZ 75 is one of my favorite pistols. It is all steel and, at 39.5 ounces, it is rather heavy for a handgun chambered for the 9mm Luger cartridge but it feels much like a Browning Hi-Power in the hand and the weight renders recoil negligible, even with +P+ cartridges. Double action, with a decent trigger from the factory, it is incredibly accurate out of the box and capable of groups that are less than two inches at 25 yards.
Over the years, I have had three CZ 75s that were equally accurate and each performed flawlessly. The last one, a CZ 75 BD which incorporates a decocker instead of the traditional safety, digested over 7,000 various rounds (FMJ and JHP including +P and +P+) without failure. 2,500 of those rounds were fired without cleaning the pistol. While I did not bake it, freeze it, drag it down the road behind my truck, or attempt to fire it underwater, its performance on the range satisfied me that it is a dependable weapon designed for serious purposes.
